Job Description
Job Summary:
To assist Artisans and Technicians to support machine availability with minimum downtime by effectively addressing emergencies, breakdowns and scheduled services.
Main Responsibilities (not limited to):
- To assist Artisans and Technicians with in executing all maintenance activities to the required standard
- To ensure resources, tools and equipment are available to perform preventative maintenance effectively as instructed by the Artisans and Technicians.
- To perform Housekeeping duties for the workshop and other working areas.
- To ensure health, safety, environmental and quality regulations and standards are adhered to in line with the legal requirements.
- To comply with internal policies and procedures.
- To complete small projects as identified and under the supervision of a qualified person.
- To actively identify and report potential hazards in order to mitigate risks.
- To ensure Health, Safety and Environmental regulations are adhered to in line with the legal requirements for both SABN employees and contractors.
The Preferred Candidate is likely to have:
- Matric or N3 Mechanical / Electrical (Essential)
- Forklift license, Cherry Picker and Tractor license (Essential)
- 1-year experience in a technical environment
Knowledge and Skills:
- Basic Mechanical / Electrical Engineering principles
- Basic SHE Practices
- Basic Maintenance procedures and processes
- Basic Mechanical / Electrical skills
- Problem solving skills
- Computer literacy
- Fault finding skills
- Communication skills (verbal, written)
- Attention to detail
- Maintenance Principles.
